Discernment Course Modules
Module I - Meeting God’s Call: Who is the God who is Calling Us?
Open Anytime Open to All Students
Using Bishop Edward Little’s book, Ears to Hear, Recognizing and Responding to God’s Call, this module invites those who are exploring their call to lay or ordained ministry to ask, “Who is the God who is calling us?” This module looks at the stories of God’s call to ordinary people, gaining a deeper understanding of their relationship to God and the nature of God’s call. This is a two-week online module.
Module V - Meeting Gods Call in Community- Affirming our Ministry Together
Open to All Students
This is a weekend designed for large or small groups of discerners or for church communities seeking to discern who and what God is calling them to be and to do. This experience of vocational discernment takes place within the context of the Eucharist. Participants will explore their current ministries (“Take”) and where they feel they are being called, how they are blessed and what their resources may be (“Bless”), what brokenness they bring to their vocation (“Break”) and how they are affirmed by one another (“Give”). Participants will work in online groups for some of the session, individually for some, and as a larger community.
